ABOUT
I paint landscapes that are instantly recognisable but modern and striking in design.
The stripes are painted freehand usually in acrylics on canvas. I also like to use Farrow & Ball prints. Sometimes mixing both mediums.
Painting stripes can be intense work and sometimes feel the need to paint in a freestyle.
I am interested in mid century design and am looking to include more of this in my work.
I also create digital designs including a very popular range of travel prints.
I have always had in interest in photography. And use my pictures for reference. I have an eye for a good composition and have taken some lovely shots and am currently working on some photomontages.
I have lived by the coast most of my life.
Born in Watford in 1968. Moved to the Isle of Wight with family in 1979.
I started painting in 2000, selling vibrant art to visitors and locals on the Isle of Wight.
Moved to Dorset in 2012 which enabled me to branch out with my art.
Connections to the Island remained strong, so I returned in June 2018.
I am now represented by galleries here and on the mainland.
Please see the LINKS page for stockists and for a link to my other website THE STRIPY TYPE.
I am a member of the National Acrylic Painters Association and have exhibited with them at the Crypt, St Ives, Cornwall.
